• Boat fishing only, you must book a boat then select which permit you would like (sport or catch and keep permits).
• Exceptionally well-stocked trout fishery.
• Weekly stocking throughout the season.
• 750 acres of crystal clear water.
• 18 standard Boats available for hire + 3 Wheelie Boats.
• Fly fishing is only permitted with recognised fly fishing tackle. Boat fishing only.
• Life jackets must always be worn when on the jetty and when in the boat.
• Do not discard line or hooks. This can seriously injure wildlife.
• The use of keepnets, floats, spinners, plug or spoon baits, ground bait /attractants, live or dead baits, is not permitted
• Single hooked flies only, no double or treble hooks.
• All anglers over 12 years old must hold a valid EA Rod Licence.
• When fishing catch and release you must use barbless hooks. All fish returned alive to the water should be handled as little as possible and returned as quickly as possible.
• All anglers must fill in their catch return and place them in the catch return boxes provided.
• All anglers must have their own fly fishing equipment.
• Anglers under 16 year of age must be accompanied by a responsible parent or guardian.
• Carsington Sports & Leisure reserve the right to alter the rules of this fishery at any time, without prior notice.
• No fish other than trout may be taken from the reservoir. 
• No trout under 12 inches shall be killed.
• No course or bank fishing allowed .

Wheelie Boat

For those anglers who are wheelchair bound or have disabilities which do not allow them to fish from our standard boats we have 2 wheelchair access boats. Our fishery staff are on hand to help you on and off the boat. We strongly advise that these boats are booked in advance.

Derbyshire County Angling Club members

DCAC members have the opportunity to fly fish on Carsington Water with a free permit included in their membership. There are 4 permits available each day with a bag limit of 2 fish each. You will need to book and pay for a boat and also give your club number so we can allocate you one of the permits. Check your club information and rules.
