Cycle Hire Open Daily
Bikes are hired for a morning or afternoon hire session for 2 or 3 hours.
Currently the morning hire session is from 10am and the afternoon hire session from 1.30pm.

Enjoy the areas picturesque trails on our top brand mountain bikes. You can enjoy the short, family friendly, 3 mile route or the full 8 mile reservoir circuit now all off road. Alternatively you can increase your route a little further and take in Hopton and Carsington Village.
Our tracks are regularly maintained and improved by Severn Trent Water and link to the Tissington and High Peak trails giving you even more opportunities to take in the fabulous scenery within the Derbyshire Dales.
Our cycle hire consists of mountains bikes from Merida, Forme, Squish and Dawes, all with front suspension. We also offer comfort bikes for those who require a more upright seating position and electric bikes for those requiring a little assistance.

Cycle helmets are included in the hire price, however if you have your own helmet you may wish to bring that with you to use.
*Beto Child Seat Max Childs Weight 15kg, child must be able to sit up unsupported. Please note that this unit is only hired with our own cycles due to the bespoke mounting system. The child seats are fitted to 18" frame adult cycles (min inside leg 71cm)
**Burley Piccolo Tag Along Unit Max Childs Weight 32kg, Min Inside Leg 45cm. Please note that this unit is only hired with our own cycles due to the bespoke mounting system. Dogs must not be carried inside the buggies.
***Tow Buggies are suitable for 2 small children up to a collective weight of 25kg. Please note that this unit is only hired with our own cycles. Dogs must not be carried inside the buggies for any reason thank you,
****Electric bikes are only suitable for 18 years plus, are not permitted to be taken off site on to other trails and can not have attachments fitted
The above prices & hire conditions are for members of the public only. Organisations and groups wishing to hire bikes from us need to contact the centre directly.
Deposits
You will be required to leave either a driving licence, passport, credit or debit card (in your name) for the duration of the hire period. The ID must display your signature. Your ID will be securely sealed into an envelope and locked away until your return.
Our staff will be unable to hire any bikes without one of the above deposits.
Responsibility
All bikes and equipment supplied by CSL Ltd are the responsibility of the hirer for the duration of hire. Bike locks can Purchased on request subject to availability and we strongly recommend that bikes are locked if left unattended.
Bookings
All cycles must be booked in advance. We are not able to accept walk ins on the day.
- NO ID, you do not meet the requirements your booking will be cancelled and is non-refundable
- You will be required to book and pay online to secure your cycle hire. If making an online booking is not possible then we will be able to take a booking and payment over the telephone between 9am and 4pm at least a day in advance
- Bikes must be collected by the start of your booking time
- Bikes will be hired for a morning or afternoon hire session for 2 or 3 hours. See web bookings for more information
- Please wear appropriate clothing as you may get wet and muddy around the track
- Please note that E-bikes are not permitted to be taken off site on to other trails
- We can only offer bike assistance when you are on site and cannot support if you do go off on to other trails
- A reasonable Surcharges will be incurred in the event of damage or late return.
Opening Times
The cycle hire is open from 9.30am every day during the summer and Wednesday - Sunday in the winter apart from Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day. All bikes have to be returned by 4.30pm during the main season and earlier during autumn and winter. Contact the centre or check the Homepage for more exact information for individual times of year.
Please note the cycle hire may be closed between 12pm and 12.45pm, bikes will only be able to be returned during this time.
The cycle hire may also close at times due to adverse weather conditions.
